Sunday Shred :: Core Countdown Circuit

Cardio/HIITWhitney Carlson2 Comments

Today's circuit will get your core in tip-top shape while increasing your heart rate and get you burning fat faster!

The premise of the Core Countdown Circuit workout is that you complete each exercise for the given period of seconds - 60 seconds of mountain climbers, 60 seconds of plank and so on... Aim to repeat this 2 times through, but for my beginners out there, don't beat yourself up if you make it through only once. Everyone starts somewhere! For the more advanced reader, incorporate some difficult moves into the routine - for example, exchange the regular planks for opposite arm, opposite leg planks.

As a side note: I like to incorporate this into my days that I only do HIIT or cardio training!

Hope you enjoy it!

Sunday Shred :: Backside Trimmer Treadmill HIIT

Wow! The response to our Sunday Shred HIIT Cardio Routines has been fabulous! Many of you have asked for different routines (which I am hoping to get to every other Sunday!), as well as another treadmill routine. Well, here's that treadmill routine. It's just you and your treadmill this time! Make sure you have a watch that counts the seconds or a gym boss interval timer, as you will be turning the power off on your treadmill and will lose the functionality of the time feature.

Happy Independence Day!

Not sure if you have time for a quick workout today with all of the festivities for July 4th? Try this one on for size, the Star Spangled Sweat-Off!

The exercises described in this plan are body weight exercises and need no equipment. All you need is a timer and a stair, a bench, a chair or a sofa for the tricep dips! Complete each exercise in a minute, continuing on to the next exercise immediately. Do a total of three sets of the exercises and you will have completed a challenging 30 minute interval workout!

Total calories burned from this workout depend on your current physical health, body weight and intensity to which you perform the exercise. Everyone will be different; however, most will burn from 300-500 calories during these 30 minutes.

Good luck and Happy Fourth of July!
