We've had a ton of different challenges before but we've never had a run/walk challenge! I wanted to do one this month since most of us tend to fall of the cardio bandwagon this time of year - which also coincides with the time that we indulge in more treats than usual! Let's keep our cardio game going with this 30-day challenge. You can run, you can walk, you can hike, or you can do a combo - just get it done! I also suggest that instead of just running you try to mix it up. Some ideas are sprints (30 seconds on - 30 seconds off, etc), incline training, or a combination of both (check out our cardio/HIIT routines for ideas).

Remember, this shouldn't be your only workout - you still need to keep up your weight lifting! We have 4, 6, and 12-week workout plans for all fitness levels! Use one of our workout plans, our 4-Week Busy Body Plan would be perfect this time of year! You can read all about those here.

Follow us on Instagram (heandsheeatclean) - we would love to see you trotting - use the hashtag #heandsheeatclean.

This isn't the only challenge we are introducing though! We are going to have our Healthy Living Challenge {Holiday Edition}! This is another completely FREE challenge to join where you will have the support of numerous trainers and coaches to help you stay on track over the holiday season! (If you are already in the Healthy Living Challenge Group on Facebook you do not have to request to join again!)

As the seasons change our food prep usually changes right along with it! During the summer our food prep usually consists of things like Clean Eating Chicken Salad and Zesty Grilled Chicken. In the fall we usually like to make more cold-weather type recipes, many that use the slow cooker!

Our food prep lately has consisted of the following recipes. We hope that you enjoy them as much as we have!

Clean Eat Recipe: Banana Cream Quick Oats | He and She Eat Clean

We just returned from a hiking trip where we hiked in CO, UT, and NM. We shared some of our pictures via social media (Facebook and Instagram) but plan to do a series of posts from how we save money when traveling, what we eat when traveling, etc...so stay tuned!

We bought quick oats to make in order to fuel up before our hikes. There are so many different ways to make quick oats and we always seem to discover a new favorite while traveling!

Try these Banana Cream Quick Oats and let us know what you think - the coconut oil really makes this recipe!

Clean Eat Recipe: Banana Cream Quick Oats

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 - 1 cup gluten free quick oats
  • 1/2 - 1 banana
  • 1/2 Tbsp coconut oil (you can melt before adding or just add it to your hot oats and let it melt in them)
  • water or unsweetened almond milk
  • sweetener of your choice (Stevia, Truvia, honey, etc.)
  • dash of sea salt
  • dash of cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Prepare oats as listed on package (we usually use boiling water and a small amount of unsweetened almond milk)
  2. Add all ingredients, except banana, and stir
  3. Slice banana and add to the top - then stir into the oats
  4. Enjoy!
