Clean Eat Education :: Essential Items for your Day Hike

Whitney CarlsonComment

Scott & I just returned home from a two week hiking trip to Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and Grand Teton National Park.  We hiked over 140 miles during our trip.  Hiking is a great cardio workout that burns 400-500 calories per hour!  Use this list of essential items to get moving up that mountain. Note this is a very basic list we will share more in-depth packing lists at a later date!

Below is a picture from Glacier National Park before we started our 19 mile Pitamakin-Dawson Loop hike.

Clothing:

  • DriFit Shirt
  • Convertible Pants
  • Rain Jacket
  • Wool Hiking Socks
  • Hiking Shoes (preferably Gore-Tex)

Check the weather for the area where you will be hiking.  The temperatures can vary and change drastically and quickly so always dress in layers.

Enjoy your hike by making sure that you are adequately prepared!
