Crock Pot Bison Chili

The crisp, fall air is sweeping through the south and we are welcoming it with open arms! It's time for hay rides, pumpkin patches, high school football, bonfires and chili!!  Enter in our new chili recipe! Made with the protein-packed, lean meat, bison, it's the perfect treat for dinner!

Clean Eat Bison Chili

Ingredients:

Directions:

1. Combine ground bison, onion, ground cumin and chili powder in a large stock pot and cook meat until browned.

2. Add tomatoes, chicken broth and organic red beans. Bring to a boil.

3. Cover pot with lid, leaving room for steam to escape. Reduce heat to simmer. Cook for approximately 2 hours on low.

Makes approximately 6 servings.

Italian Turkey Burgers

Add these super easy and very versatile turkey burgers to your weekly food prep line up!

Clean Eat Recipe: Italian Turkey Burgers

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 3/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp + 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Directions:

1. Mix together all ingredients in a large mixing bowl by hand

2. Form into 4 equal size patties

3. In a skillet or grill, cook burgers thoroughly (we use a George Foreman grill)

He & She Tip: These are delicious on Ezekiel buns or Ezekiel English muffins.  You can also cut up the turkey patty to top off your salad with some protein!

Clean Eat Recipe :: Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bites

Ingredients:

  • 1 large banana
  • 1 Tbsp natural peanut butter or almond butter
  • 4 squares of dark chocolate (we use Lindt 85% Cocoa)

Directions:

1. Cut banana into 1/4" slices

2. Cover banana slice with nut butter and place another slice of banana on top

3. Place in freezer for approx one hour

4. Melt chocolate in microwave

5. Dip frozen banana bites into chocolate or cover entire bite in chocolate

6. Place bites in freezer until chocolate hardens

Makes 2 Servings

Macros (per serving):

  • Calories - 220
  • Protein - 6 g
  • Carbs - 21 g
  • Fat - 13 g
