There's two more on the He and She Eat Clean team that we definitely don't post enough about on the website. We do bring them up quite a bit on Snapchat and Instagram stories, capturing their cute and funny moments. They bring us so much joy and sometimes frustration but life wouldn't be the same without them. No, we don't have any kids but we do have two cats! In fact, one of our most popular pictures on Instagram a few years ago was of Rambo sitting in a chair at our table like he was going to eat with us.

P.S. Even if you only have a dog keep reading!

I've always loved animals, cats especially. There are baby pictures of me playing with cats and carrying them in ways I'm sure they didn't like! Although I've had lots of cats over my lifetime, many of them lived with my parents on the farm I grew up on. Scott and I just have two right now. If you haven't seen their crazy pics or videos on social media let me introduce you to Rambo and Lucky.

Scott rescued Rambo from a holly bush back in 2006. He was home and heard a cat crying and found a kitten hiding in a holly bush trying to hide from his dog in their backyard. He was actually a neighborhood cat that lived in the storm drain on the street but Scott rescued him and quickly became attached. He was just a little kitten then but is now a huge, fluffy grown cat that still acts like a kitten, sometimes.

Lucky was our next door neighbors cat but they were looking to find him a new home because they were moving to another state and just had a new baby. They didn't want Lucky to go through so many changes at once. Lucky only has three legs but can out sprint Rambo! Our neighbor happened to go to the vet for her dog a few days after Lucky was dropped off on the vets doorstep and they had to amputate his leg. No one is really sure what happened but for someone to leave a kitten like that crushed her heart and ours too. We weren't looking for another cat but now I can't imagine if we didn't have our sweet Lucky. They told us that he was cuddly and sweet but I didn't really believe them because Rambo typically isn't that type. Lucky is the sweetest cat that I have ever had.

Just like we don't think living a healthy lifestyle stops with what you eat but also extends into the kind of personal care products you use and even your recycling habits, we also think that our pets should be given the best food and care possible.

We were excited when Nulo™ reached out to us and even more impressed once we checked out their website to learn what they were about. Nulo is grain-free pet food (pet nutrition) inspired by world class athletes and their formulas are grain-free and contain more animal-based protein and fats with fewer carbohydrates than their grain-based counterparts. Intrigued, we stopped by our local Petsmart and picked up a few bags of the dry indoor cat food and also a few cans of cat food while nearby for a tiny house expo (which will have to be saved for an entirely different post!).

They have LOVED all of the flavors they have tried so far but I think the turkey and chicken recipe is their favorite (they told me). ;-) The formula we purchased was specifically designed for indoor cats since they may experience less physical activity than their outdoor friends.

We love our cats and want them to be around and healthy as long as possible. We believe that feeding them quality food will help accomplish this and we can live #HealthierTogether. We also love that Nulo Pet Food is based in Austin, TX and remains one of the few independently owned pet food companies in North America.
